Need Some Help...
Deciding Which Beginning Method to Get?

It's easy to figure out — you just need to decide:

1) What musical style or styles you want to learn, and

2) Whether you learn better by reading, listening, or watching!

Do you love blues music and nothing else? Then you need either the Instant Blues Harmonica book/CD, or the Blues and Rock Harmonica Made Easy book. If rock music is your thing, the same two packages will do it for you — they both include plenty of beginner's level rock harp!

All you need to do is to decide whether a book or a book/CD package (of which you need mostly use the CD, if you're not big on learning by reading) would work best for you.

Are you a visual learner? Our new Make Me Musical DVD will teach you some blues and rock (and folk, and classical) music, but it does not give you as much detail on the theory of blues and rock music. On the other hand (to make a pun), the Harmonica Hand Signal Method™ is a GREAT way for visual learners to get playing right away...

If you're a Country & Western fan, your choice is simple: C & W Harmonica Made Easy. It comes as a book, or a book and cassette (one of these days we'll do a CD, but we haven't yet). Sorry.

If you want to play folk music, you have two choices. If you like to learn by reading, our Pocket Harmonica Songbook will do it for you. If you want to learn more by listening, then you may find the "sampler" methods below to be more appropriate (and you might learn to like blues and rock, too!).

If you're not sure what style you like, then you need one of our "Sampler" products.

Three Minutes to Blues, Rock, and Folk Harmonica covers all three styles, in book/CD format. The new third edition includes a bit of Country and Western, too.

Make Me Musical is a DVD that covers much of the same material, in visual format. But as mentioned above, it will kick-start you (especially if you like to learn by watching) but it will not provide ALL necessary background for a lifetime of blues or rock harp playing. The DVD will work very well with either Instant Blues Harmonica or Three Minutes to™ Blues, Rock and Folk Harmonica, so if you are serious about playing blues or rock harp, you may want to get the DVD and one of the Book/CD methods...

If you are not interested in a beginner method, or wonder if you are, indeed, a beginner — please read the section on "What Level You Are."
